A Taste of History: Food and Drink on the High Seas, in the Drawing Room and Under the Table
Join Cannon Beach Treasure Company for a trip through culinary history as they premier their latest exhibit: A Taste of History: Food and Drink on the High Seas, in the Drawing Room and Under the Table. View wine and rum bottles trapped on a shipwreck for over 200 years, Spanish "olive jars" which sank on a once-proud galleon in 1743, and a full complement of six-piece place settings used by officers of the British East Indiaman Queen, which sank in 1800. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Georgian crystal shipwreck decanters share a display with shipwreck flatware and the infamous smuggled pirate "onion bottles" featured in Pirates of the Caribbean. And don't miss the antique liquor decanter bottle jewelry - it's a piece of culinary history you can wear! Also on display will be Victorian bottles, pots and soda bottles, miniature tea sets used by little girls for garden parties in by-gone days, and European hand-blown wine bottles from the 1700 and 1800Ős. And, if the weekend's events become just too much - check out the 1800's patent medicine bottles dug from the Thames river which promise a cure for that hangover - and what ever else ails you! Best of all, historians Robert Lewis Knecht and April Knecht will be on hand to tell you the real life stories of these treasures - how they were made, used and lost, how they were rediscovered, and how they came to be a part of the Savor Cannon Beach festivities.

Savor Cannon Beach Wine and Culinary Festival

This year's festival is better than ever, with even more wine events added to the schedule. We've joined the team as a guest host to one of the featured wineries on the Wine Tour - held on Saturday March 10 from 2-5pm. But what we're most excited about is our new exhibit that begins its three-month run at the festival.
